Cancellations & Refunds Policy

(Standard Car Driving Lessons)


 

  • Pupil Cancellations: Unless 24 hours notice is given lessons must be paid for as the lesson slot could have been available for another pupil. However if you and your instructor can rearrange the lesson for a different time in the same week a fee will not be charged. In the event that the pupil does not show for the lesson, the instructor will wait for 15 minutes before leaving. The lesson will then be presumed cancelled and the pupil must pay for the lesson time allocated or in the case of a block booking the time will be deducted from the amount of hours left in the block. The instructor will inform via text or phone call that he/she has waited for the 15 minutes and is now leaving the arranged pick up point.
  • Instructor Cancellations: Instructors will give the same period for cancellations as above. However if he/she needs to cancel due to i.e. unforeseen vehicle problems or bad weather he/she can cancel at any time (health and safety) and reschedule your lesson in that same week if possible. A mutual date and time must be agreed by both instructor and pupil, if not the lesson will go ahead at the next arranged lesson, usually the following week.
  • Cancellation of pre-paid block booking: The cancellation of block bookings (including new pupil beginner offers) will result in all the hours you have taken, added up and you will be charged at the appropriate current full hourly rate (you got the discount because you bought a block of 10 hrs and have chosen not to complete them). The refund will be the remaining figure (i.e. 10 hr booking paid for but only 5 hours taken. Example of calculation 5 hrs x £35 = £175, you paid £330 for the block minus the £175 = £155) Therefore your final refund will be £155.
  • Refunds: All refunds are the sole responsibility of your instructor as he/she have received all monies and is a franchisee of Drive Safe Driving School, not an employee. In the case of refunds from a gift voucher where Drive Safe have received the money but no instructor has been allocated Drive Safe will refund the voucher price less £10 to cover our costs and time to produce the voucher. If the voucher has not been produced and sent via Royal Mail a full refund will be issued.
  • Gift Vouchers have a 3 month validity period, this will be from the date you specify but this date will need to be no further than 1 month in advance from the time of booking via our website or calling our main office via telephone. 
  • If the gift voucher has not been used by this date it will become invalid and any monies paid will be lost. 
  • If a booking has been made and the person the voucher is for does not show up on the day of the booking all monies paid for that booking slot will be charged at full price. 
  • Less than 24 hours notice of cancellations will incur a full charge for that booked lesson slot. 
  • If a cancellation is made with more than 24 hours notice we will be more than happy to rebook another time slot for you as long as it is within the 3 month validity period. If it falls outside this period then it will be company discretion whether this will be honoured. 
  • As gift vouchers are a personalised item unfortunately no refunds will be given (Consumer Rights Act 2015 & Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013). Money Saving Expert website has explained this in an easy to understand way.

  • Any mistakes with wording on the gift voucher by us will be replaced free of charge. Any mistakes in your original order by the person ordering will be rectified if possible and a new voucher will be sent. 
  • There is a £5.00 charge for this to cover any additional charges we may incur.
